History of the Spike S-512 QSJ (Quiet Supersonic Jet)

The S-512 has an expected (rather optimistic) range of 6,200 miles, and its cabin will be configured to carry 20 passengers. The estimated speed of this supersonic performer is set to Mach 1.6. At the time of writing (2017), these engines have not been named, but the company is working on engines in the 20,000-pound thrust range.

High-speed active testing is planned for 2019, with full-scale testing planned for 2021. The company hopes to start shipping its stylish products in 2023 or later.

An unmanned, scaled-down proof-of-concept demonstrator is in development, dubbed SX-1.2, and is designed to cover low-speed stability and control testing.
