History

Twin turboprop commuter aircraft. First flight in 1969, entered service in 1971 (L-420 in 1998). The Czech Republic successfully developed a commuter aircraft. Built-in multiple versions. An upgraded version of the L-420 with a more powerful engine and heavier weight.

Also used by the military as a light tactical and general transport aircraft. AYRES owned LET from 1998 to 2013.

Since 2013, the manufacturer Aircraft Industries s. a. belongs to the Russian industrial holding company UGMK. The aircraft is still in production, the current model is L 410 UVP-E20, and the EASA/FAA type certificate is L 410 NG.
