12. 8 cm anti-aircraft gun double 40 layers

Dual 12.8 cm (128 mm) "Flakzwilling 40" is a variant of the very successful 12.8 cm FlaK 40, developed to replace the legendary 88 mm anti-aircraft gun system, which proved to be doubly effective (and therefore Fear) Proof) as an Allied tank gun. The twin-barreled FlaK 40 was a large artillery system that had to be broken down into relatively more compact components when the unit needed to be transported to a new location.

As a result, engineers worked hard to deploy these guns in static locations in and around strategically important cities such as Berlin, eliminating the need for transport to other locations. Some "doubles" are mounted on flat-rail vehicles to meet the requirements of long-distance missions, while others are mounted on heavy-duty flatbed trailers to be towed by vehicles such as the SdKfz 9-series half-track.

In its heavy-duty trailer form, the platform is fitted with six solid rubber tires on each side and is additionally supported by a sturdy bracket to support the 12-ton artillery system.

The Flakzwilling 40 is semi-automatic using a horizontal slider, each shell is fired electrically after penetrating the breech with a rammer. The recoil is hydropneumatic in nature, while the elevation of the barrel ranges from -3 degrees to +88 degrees, and the lateral is 360 degrees.

Each 57.2-pounder shell had a vertical range of 12.5 miles, which allowed it to hit all Allied bombers in use at the time. A full combat crew of one officer (captain), two gunners and up to seven ammunition handlers is required to maintain an excellent optimum rate of fire of 12-20 rounds per minute.
