Paramount Maverick

The Paramount Story of Independence

The Maverick is a light armoured homeland security vehicle supplied by Paramount Group of South Africa. It is designed for police/law enforcement agencies and security groups to provide point defense protection against unruly thugs and similar scenarios. Its rugged design and ruggedness make it useful for a variety of mission types, including counter-insurgency, crowd suppression, and patrolling. Crews inside are air-conditioned comfortably and protected from small arms fire (up to 7.62mm AP), grenade attacks and incendiary rounds.

An automatic (and manual) fire protection system also ensures the safety of the occupants.

Maverick is designed for both road and off-road riding. Its maneuverability in the latter is achieved thanks to a strong suspension system and high ground clearance, as well as a powerful front engine. The dozer blade and bumper bar can break through/clear obstacles when needed. In addition to these features, the truck has an excellent turning radius to get out of trouble spots in a short period of time.

An onboard camera provides a rear view.

One base two staff, and another twelve seats. All glass panels are armored and additional panels can be attached to the vehicle floor. The payload capacity reaches 2000 kg.

Variants of the Maverick family of vehicles include Police ISV (base product with optional firing ports and roof mounted water cannons), SWAT APC (police armored personnel carrier with enhanced protection and firing ports), Mobile Adjustable Slope Road system (the vehicle has an elevated ramp system) and an EOD bomb disposal vehicle.

Past operators (2017) include Argentina, Azerbaijan, Brazil, Gabon, South Africa and Zambia.
