The Story of Soltam Rascal

The Rascal Light Self-Propelled Artillery is a highly maneuverable, long-range, high-velocity artillery system manufactured by Soltam Ltd of the Koor Industries Group in Haifa, Israel.

Rogue can be used in 155mm 39 or 52 caliber guns. The gun is mounted on a hydraulic turntable at the rear of the vehicle. The gun has an azimuth angle of 30 and an elevation angle ranging from -0 to +65. Lifting and moving are done hydraulically. The loading aid is actuated pneumatically.

The weapon is equipped with a pneumatic rammer.

To prepare the vehicle for launch, lower the two hydraulically operated shovels into place to stabilize the vehicle. After firing, the blade retracts.

The vehicle can carry up to 36 rounds of projectiles, which are stored bottom-down in projectile racks on either side of the weapon. Charges are stored in fire-resistant armored magazines in front of the gun. The gun can carry a wide range of 155mm ammunition.drive

The engine compartment is located on the left side of the vehicle behind the cab. The car is equipped with a diesel engine, automatic transmission, hydraulic power steering and a high-performance braking system.

The Rascal is a tracked vehicle with six dual-road wheels with rubber tires on each side. The large drive sprocket is clearly visible in front of the first road wheel, with the idler in the rear.
