M1161 Growler Tale
The M1161 Growler is a portable light attack vehicle designed for use with the V-22 tilt-rotor aircraft.
The Growler was originally developed by the American Growler in 1999 when the Marine Corps was looking for a vehicle that could be transported by the V-22 Osprey. The M1161 and M1163 are the only tactical vehicles certified to fly on V-22 aircraft.
The M1161 Growler has multiple roles of light utility vehicle, light attack vehicle and fast attack vehicle, and is smaller than most international vehicles in the same role.
It is equipped with a 2.8 turbo diesel engine developed by Navistar Defense with 132 hp and 311 Nm. The Growler M1161 is street legal. They are available for free from March 2019.
