Heckler & Koch HK MP5N History
HK MP5N is another variant of the very successful West German series of submachine guns, based on the MP5 model. The "N" mark identifies it as "Navy" and becomes a dedicated Navy model of the MP5 series, designed for use by the United States Navy (USN).
The weapon has since been adopted by other operators around the world, including Malaysia.
The Navy model features a special "Navy Trigger System", a threaded barrel to support the silencer/silencer, a retractable shoulder rest for compact transport and a fixed titanium front sight. The MP5N can be fitted with a specially designed waterproof stainless steel muffler for covert work up close.
The N model retains many of the features and general features of the MP5 series, including selective fire (safety and fully automatic modes), a sloping handguard that covers most of the barrel length, and an oversized trigger ring that can be used by wearing gloves Handy and slim curved magazine with a choice of 15 or 30 rounds. The rate of fire is 800 rounds per minute.
