History
German weapons engineer Hugo Schmeisser used his talents to design the famous MP18 (Machine Pistol 1918) - the first mass-produced submachine gun in military history - which appeared in the second half of the First World War (1914-1918 ) . As Germany started rearmament on the road to World War II (1939-1940), the development of the German submachine gun was mainly along the lines of the "MP36" in 1936, which in turn gave rise to the MP38 and eventually the wartime.??? MP40 model. Although Schmeisser designed the MP18, he only holds a patent for the MP40s magazine, but the weapon is still identified by some as "Schmeisser".
Schmeisser developed a fork of the MP40 called "MP41". This is basically the same weapon as the MP40, except for the rifle-style wooden stock, which is used in place of the original metal frame and folding metal stock. The selector switch allows for different rates of fire, mostly based on the early MP28 submachine gun.
The rifle stock is one piece, forming the stock, main grip and lower receiver. As usual, the trigger unit is mounted under the wooden body. The metal part of the MP40 receiver is integrated into the upper carved part of the wooden body. The front of the weapon is also carried over from the MP40, including the long, straight magazine that doubles as the front vertical grip.
Broadly speaking, the MP41 is identical in form and function to the MP40 - it holds the ubiquitous German 9x19mm Parabellum pistol cartridge and is fed from a 32-round detachable magazine.
Unlike the MP40, which was widely used by the German Armed Forces on the front lines, the MP41 was only a special forces weapon used in the SS (Nazi paramilitary forces) and local police special forces units. The manufacture of the firearm was restricted from the start, and as the war progressed, production dwindled - it was only exported to Romania - and never reached the popularity or number of service members of the competing MP40 series.
