History
North Korea's "Type 70" is very rare in semi-automatic pistols around the world. The series was adopted by the North Korean military as a successor to the 1960s NORINCO Type 64 series, which in turn was based on the German Walther PPK and Soviet Makarov PM series pistols (both of which are available elsewhere). details) location).
The newer Type 70, partly influenced by the Browning Type 1900, became the standard officer-level weapon in the North Korean military system after its introduction in the 1970s.
Externally, the weapon borrows physical characteristics from the Walther PPK and the Soviet Makarov, both successful types of semi-automatic pistols. The grip has vertical stripes for a firmer grip, and the trigger is solid in its thick trigger guard. A beveled star can be seen at the top of the handlebar.
Aside from the rear knurl (for sliding boot) and the eject port (along the right), the slider is smooth. The muzzle part is very similar to the design of the Makarov pistol. Iron sights are noted above the receiver in the usual way.
Internally, the hammer is clearly exposed for single-action recoil operation (separated barrel) and the rear of the frame. The room is formed in. 32 ACP, making it easy for most users to operate the gun.
The Type 70 is believed to still be in active circulation in the ranks of the North Korean Army (DPRK).
