History of the GAM-10X

The Chinese GAM-10X anti-tank guided missile (ATGM) system was developed to match Western counterparts, resembling the US FGM-148 "Javelin." It serves the purpose of engaging enemy tanks and fortifications from a distance. The system consists of two models, GAM-100 for short-range targets and GAM-102 for medium-range targets.

GAM-100, weighing 28.5 pounds and measuring 3.9 feet in length, features an infrared seeker and spring-loaded tail for flight stability. Operators can choose between a direct or overhead attack mode. The missile can reach speeds of 550 feet per second and penetrate armor up to 1,000 mm in thickness. The complete system includes missiles, launch tubes, and control/sighting devices, with reusable launch tubes.

The versatility of the GAM-10X system is evident in its applications. It can be employed as a portable shoulder-fired weapon, mounted on infantry fighting vehicles, or set up on a tripod for static defense or attack. This adaptability makes it a valuable asset for the Chinese military.
