History
The SAR EVO5 WP is a Polish unmanned aerial vehicle developed by WZL 2, a company within Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa, in cooperation with Pelixar. The aircraft was developed as a modular platform for transporting and delivering payloads in demanding field conditions.
The SAR EVO5 WP was publicly presented at the MSPO defence exhibition in Poland in September 2026. The displayed configuration was equipped with four payload release mechanisms, demonstrating its ability to carry and release separate loads.
Although presented as a bomber drone, the platform is also intended for logistics and search-and-rescue missions. Its modular architecture allows different mission equipment to be installed according to operational requirements.
Design
The SAR EVO5 WP uses an X8 coaxial propulsion arrangement. Its propulsion system is duplicated, and the aircraft also has a dual power supply system intended to improve reliability during logistics, search-and-rescue, and other field missions.
The modular payload system can accommodate cameras, sensors, and equipment for transporting cargo. At MSPO, the aircraft was shown with four release mechanisms mounted beneath the platform.
The maximum payload is 5 kg, while the recommended payload is 2 kg. The aircraft can remain airborne for up to 30 minutes and has an operating radius of up to 15 km.
The UAV has a cruising speed of 12 m/s and a maximum speed of 20 m/s. It is designed to operate in winds of up to 60 km/h and within an ambient temperature range from -25 °C to +40 °C.
