Helsing HX-2 LT

History

The Helsing HX-2 LT is a strike unmanned aerial vehicle and loitering munition developed by Helsing. Demand for the system has grown among units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine operating near the border with Russia, in areas where Starlink signals are unavailable. A defence industry source stated on 14 October 2026 that some end-users praise the system for its ability to hit targets near Donetsk City that are not reachable by other drones because of Starlink jamming by Russia in that area.

The HX-2 LT is described as "Starlink-free," giving the end-user complete control. Thousands of missions have been flown by the Armed Forces of Ukraine using the system since October 2025.

During the Sentinel Strike Challenge, part of the European Defence Agency's EU OPEX operational experimentation campaign, Helsing reported that the HX-2 LT completed three weeks of testing with a "100% strike rate." The exercise was held with the Portuguese Armed Forces at Santa Margarida military camp from 21 September to 14 October 2026. Testing included strikes against moving targets conducted under GNSS jamming that resulted in full GNSS denial, which continued during the approach to the target and at the target.
