History

Derivatsia PVO is a new generation self-propelled anti-aircraft gun (SPAAG) system of Russian origin, based on a lightly armored tracked vehicle with a rapid-fire automatic cannon. It was developed by Uralvagonzavod in Nizhny Tagil, Russia, to meet military needs for a light, low-level, self-propelled airspace denial system.

Testing of the vehicle is scheduled to begin before the end of 2018.

The hull is based on the latest model BMP-3 series Infantry Fighting Vehicle (IFV) frame with proven off-road capability and general on-road capability. The general shape of the hull is consistent with the entire low profile BMP range: a near-horizontal glacier plate on the bow, a flat roofline on the hull, and flat side and rear walls.

Armor protection is available for small arms fire and artillery jets, watch out for mine absorption below. On top of the hull is an unmanned, remote-controlled turret that can rotate 360 ??degrees and has an undisclosed range of elevation angles.

The driver sits on the left front of the fuselage, the driver sits on his right. The power pack is located on the back of the fuselage. On one side of the hull are six twin wheels, with the drive sprocket at the front and the chain idler at the rear.

Three track return rollers are mounted and protected by side "skirt" armor.

The vehicle is equipped with a rapid-fire high-angle 57mm S-60 automatic cannon. An independently operated 7.62mm machine gun is mounted on the right side of the turret with independent elevation adjustment. Twelve smoke grenade launchers provide the vehicle with a degree of self-defense - all of which are included in the turret. The primary armament is based on the rifled form of the AZP S-60 (AAA) single-barrel anti-aircraft gun system, which has proven to be effective against low-flying targets, lightly armored vehicles and other "soft" targets on the battlefield.

Aircrews can use high-explosive fragmentation rounds (HE-FRAG) against soft targets and armor-piercing rounds (AP) against armored targets. Both types are said to have guided mass range accuracy and long-range firing timing for precise, controlled detonation of individual ammunition.
