UkrArmorTech UAT-SPIDER

History

The UkrArmorTech UAT-SPIDER is a Ukrainian armored excavator-loader developed for military engineering and support work. It is intended to help Defense Forces units prepare positions, build command posts, construct routes, restore damaged roads, and carry out other engineering and logistical tasks.

In September 2026, Ukraine's Ministry of Defense codified the UAT-SPIDER and authorized it for service. UkrArmorTech stated that the machine had completed the required testing and was ready for contracting and serial production for the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

A contemporary Mezha report described the UAT-SPIDER as an armored engineering machine developed as an infantry support vehicle and confirmed its 3.2-ton rated lifting capacity, maximum speed of 38 km/h, protected cabin, and improved chassis.

Design

The UAT-SPIDER combines the functions of an excavator-loader with armor intended to improve crew survivability during engineering work near combat areas. The machine can be used for digging and preparing positions, supporting construction work, establishing command posts, and building or restoring routes.

The armored cabin provides protection against bullets and fragments. According to UkrArmorTech, the protection corresponds to STANAG 4569 Level 1. The developer specifically cites protection against 7.62×51 mm and 5.56×45 mm bullets and fragments associated with a shell detonation at a distance of 100 m. Major components and assemblies also receive additional protection, including an armored protective grille in front of the engine.

The vehicle has a rated lifting capacity of 3.2 tonnes and can reach a maximum speed of 38 km/h. UkrArmorTech states that the machine can operate in confined spaces. Its chassis has been updated for military use, and the design allows different configurations to be produced from the same basic platform.

Program status

As of September 2026, the UAT-SPIDER had passed the required tests, received Ukrainian Ministry of Defense codification, and was authorized for service. The developer described the vehicle as ready for contracting and serial production. The available sources do not confirm that series production or operational deliveries had already begun.
