History

The Rebel Group OPERA-OX BOX, designated REB-OX v 3.0 MAX BOX, is a vehicle-mounted dome-effect radio-electronic warfare complex presented by the Ukrainian defense company Rebel Group in October 2026. It was introduced alongside the OPERA-OX FR as part of an expansion of the REB-OX family of mobile electronic warfare platforms. The magnetic-mounting and modular architecture used in the BOX variant builds on concepts first applied in earlier systems such as the REB-OX v2.5 M. Rebel Group states that the equipment is coded in accordance with NATO standards and has completed testing at training grounds operated by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The company reports ongoing cooperation with Ukrainian Defense Forces units and continued system refinement based on combat application experience.

Design

The OPERA-OX BOX is housed in a roof-mounted enclosure shaped to resemble a standard vehicle cargo box. This form factor conceals the specialized electronic warfare equipment from visual observation, reducing the system's tactical profile compared to open-frame jamming installations. Depending on the selected configuration, the enclosure contains up to 13 jamming-generation modules. The system is designed to suppress enemy drone control channels at a range of at least 70 meters, a figure stated by the manufacturer.

Antennas and frequency coverage

The complex uses quadrifilar antennas developed and manufactured in-house by Rebel Group. Working frequencies are selected per customer requirements within the following bands: 300–1050 MHz, 2100–2900 MHz, 5150–5250 MHz, and 5725–5850 MHz.

Power and control

For autonomous operation away from vehicle power, the system can be fitted with battery packs providing at least 90 minutes of continuous jamming. The standard package includes a remote control panel, a mains charging unit, and the necessary cabling. The manufacturer provides a 12-month warranty on the product line.

Program status

Rebel Group reports that the OPERA-OX BOX has undergone trials at Ukrainian General Staff training grounds and is in active development cooperation with units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces. The company describes ongoing refinement of the system informed by operational and combat use experience. No specific field-deployment numbers or formal service-entry dates were disclosed at the time of presentation.

Related equipment

  • OPERA-OX FR (REB-OX v 3.0 MAX FR): Sister system in the same family; modular jamming units mounted on a protective frame with magnetic fastening to vehicle metal surfaces, accommodating up to 14 modules.
  • REB-OX v2.5 M: Earlier mobile complex in the REB-OX family that established the magnetic-mounting and vibration-damping bracket principle later used in both OPERA-OX variants.
