History of the Colt LE901

The Colt LE901 series is aimed at medium/large game enthusiasts and is equipped for . 308 Winchester cartridges. The firearm is absolutely modern, with polymer and metal construction, ambidextrous controls and iron front and rear sights. Based on the proven AR-15 series, the LE901 features a one-piece upper receiver with a fully floating barrel assembly (the front of the weapon does not touch the barrel when seated in the receiver).

Adjustable flip-up sight rests on a spare iron part The barrel is locked by a slotted flash hider and there is a bayonet lug under the barrel as the standard rail sections are on the sides, top and bottom of the handguard, the top continues The M4 style shoulder rest partially folds for a more compact profile - reducing base length from 37.5" to 34.24". Total weight is 9.4 lbs.

The LE901 comes in a bold matte black finish. Receiver controls include a safety lever, magazine release and bolt catch. The magazine holds 30 rounds and has a traditional M16-style bend. Like other AR-15 rifles, the LE901 relies on a direct gas supply system mounted above the barrel assembly, while using a locking bolt mechanism.

Standard barrel size is 16.1 inches, chrome-lined for durability, and has a right-hand 4-blade bore.
