History of the PGM 338
The PGM 338 is a bolt-action tactical sniper rifle manufactured by the French company PGM Precision. The weapon is marketed as a highly accurate system with a high probability of hit on the first try. It is widely accepted.
The 338 Lapua Magnum cartridge features a matching quality free-floating barrel assembly. The weapon is designed to have an effective range of 1,200 to 1,500 meters and can be used against infantry targets as well as the .338 cartridge to provide the necessary penetration at a distance.
The bolt handle is located on the right side of the weapon as usual, and the trigger assembly can be seen in its usual position under the receiver, in front of the angled pistol grip and behind the magazine well. Feeding is via a 10-round detachable box magazine with a double post. The trigger itself has two stages and the trigger weight is adjustable. Trigger safety is also built in.
The shoulder rest is adjustable (length) and has an adjustable cheek. The shoulder rests are available in fixed or foldable form. The barrel can accept a traditional slotted muzzle brake or be locked with a suppressor for stealth work.
There is a foldable, adjustable butt arbor to support the rear of the weapon, and a foldable, adjustable bipod mounted under the front end to support the front of the weapon.??? Picatinny rail sections (top and side) allow mounting of various tactical optics, including scopes (supports day or night optics). Sling attachment points allow attachment of shoulder straps, making it easier for the weapon to travel over long distances. The weapon is matte black and has an overall length of 48/8" (barrel length 27.2").
Weight is 15.6 lbs.
