History of the Deisme Percussion Revolver

F. P. Devisme is a highly skilled weapons manufacturer headquartered in Paris, France. Although Dewism was not only known for his high-quality weapons, he also made high-quality swords, and his products were so revered that they often adorned the rooms and solemn gowns of high-ranking government officials and kings of the day. Devisme also maintained close relationships with Confederate leaders during the American Civil War, and their clients included General Robert E. Lee and President Jefferson Davis.

Many of Dewisme's pieces are crafted from the highest quality materials and feature intricate engravings and accessories such as ivory and gold trim.

Deisme produces a five-shot, double-action, percussion-based revolver for the .30 caliber cartridge. A double-action system means that the hammer is automatically loaded after firing (as opposed to a single-action system, which requires manual user intervention).

Strike weapons used the principle of the thunder cap, which itself was developed around 1830, effectively replacing flintlock-based weapons and allowing the use of muskets in all weather conditions.

The Deisme revolver has a very elegant design and is beautifully engraved for easy display, albeit a mostly traditional design. The gun body is smooth, with clean lines and nice curves. The barrel is octagonal and hinged on a low-set pivot for unimpeded access to the cylinder for reloading. The barrel itself has smooth sides, the pistol grip is integrated into the rear of the receiver, and the contour is very smooth, creating a curved vertical grip. Slim and curved, the trigger is housed in a thin, nearly circular ring.

Barrel length measures 4.25 inches.

This revolver was one of Dewisme's last attempts at developing a strike weapon before turning to designing and developing firearms based on edge fire.
