Customize Kimber History
The Kimber Custom is a Colt M1911 semi-automatic pistol, available through Kimber Manufacturing since 1997. Mainly embodied in the 45 ACP - the same caliber as the original M1911 - and carrying over the form and function of the original. The base product has a 5" barrel assembly with steel frame construction. The solid trigger is custom designed with a slightly recessed ejection port, along with a grip safety and beaver tail safety mechanism.
A 7, 8 and 10 round magazine is provided. For feeding .45 ACP cartridges.
The main difference to the Custom II is the internal safety on the firing pin. The Custom TLE II is a Tactical Law Enforcement (TLE) model issued to members of the L.A. SWAT Police Force. TLE is a family of weapons with several sub-variants.
The "Warrior" and "Desert Warrior" models are further offshoots of Customs and are issued to elements of the MARSOC Special Forces of the US Marine Corps.
