History

HP9-1 is a sport pump slide shotgun developed by Chinese industry. It appears to be very close in form and function to the popular, old American Remington M870 pump-action series (detailed elsewhere on this site), complete with a pistol grip on the rear and an adjustable Selected fore grip and rectangular receiver with mostly exposed barrel.

The HP9-1 is a product of the Chinese arms group NORINCO ("China North Industries Corporation") and is also marketed under the names "Hawk 982" and "Interstate Hawk 982".

The shotgun has an overall length of 34.5 inches and a base barrel size of 14 inches. An 18" barrel assembly is also available. Like other pump-action shotgun shapes, this firearm is fed by a manual pump-action system in which the shell is drawn from a cylindrical magazine that runs under the barrel. Every movement of the slide rail feeds a new 12-gauge case into the chamber, while also removing all used cases.

The tubular magazine holds four rounds, and one round fills up to five.

Weapon aiming is via a forward facing ghost ring/bead arrangement. The stock is made of plastic and the barrel is made of "parkerized" rust-proof quality.
