It was introduced in 2005 and has been adopted by a plethora of police and military security forces while also proving popular for civilian personal defense. As is the case with nearly any semi-automatic pistol released today, the M&P is offered in full-sized frame forms down to compact frame forms to suit customer requirements. Models in the series include the "Pro Series", the "Mid-Size", and the "Bodyguard 380".
Operators of the series range from Afghanistan National Security Forces and Australian police elements to the Royal Thai Army and several American police and parks forces.
