Star Model 30M / 30PK

History

The Star M series of pistols continues the line of semi-automatic pistols made in Spain based on the Browning M1911 that began in the years following the First World War (1914-1918). The 1980s introduced a new modern line, led by the Star 30M.

This double-action sidearm uses the slide rail method to improve accuracy. Ambidextrous safety devices are installed, and the structure is mainly steel. The related 30PK model has an alloy frame.

The production line of the Star Model 30M/30PK was taken over by the Spanish police and army and counted by security personnel and local Peruvian police.

The gun loads the 9x19mm Parabellum with a 15-round detachable magazine inserted into the grip. The overall length of the 30M is just over 8 inches and relies on a 4.7 inch long barrel assembly. The 30PK is 7.6 inches long and has a 3.86-inch barrel.

The 30M has a slight increase in muzzle velocity at 1,250 ft/s compared to the 1,200 ft/s offered by the shorter 30PK series.

The Model 30 series first appeared in the mid-1980s.
