History of ST Kinetics (CIS) 40 AGL
STK 40 AGL, formerly CIS 40 AGL, is a 40mm automatic grenade launcher developed in the late 1980s and manufactured by Singapore Defence Corporation Chartered Industries . Made in Singapore (CIS, now ST Kinetics). The launcher is primarily used by the Singapore Armed Forces and the police and security forces of several other countries.
On June 19, 2000, STK announced the release of an upgrade kit called the 40mm Automatic Grenade Launcher Air Blaster System (40mm AGL-ABS). Upgrades include an electronic fire control system, weapon computer, muzzle programming coil and optical sighting system.
On December 13, 2010, the Kuwaiti Ministry of Defense issued a statement stating that CIS 40 AGL was provided to the Kuwaiti military.
