History of Knight's Armament Company's M4 MWS (Modular Weapon System)

The M4 MWS is an improved version of the M16A4 rifle, currently used by military forces worldwide. It's lighter and more powerful thanks to the 1913 rail adapter system. The M4 can attach various accessories like scopes, flashlights, and even a grenade launcher. It uses a 30-round magazine.

Compared to the M16, the M4 is smaller, making it better for close-range combat and easier to handle. It's being tested by the US Marine Corps to replace some 9mm pistols and even the M16A4 for certain units like vehicle crews and combat engineers.

The M4 MWS can fire between 700 and 900 rounds per minute and has an effective range of 500 meters for precise aiming and 600 meters for general targeting. It has adjustable sights and safety options including single shots, burst fire, and safety mode.
