History of the Ural-375
Logistics is at the heart of any successful ground campaign, and the modern Russian army - and the Soviet army before it - has invested heavily in multi-wheel thrusters such as Ural-375. 6x6 medium utility truck with 375 series 6x6 wheels. The design was manufactured by the Ural Automobile Plant, which was established in 1941 during the Second World War (1939-1945).
This kept the Ural truck line in active production from its launch in 1961 until 1993, when it was chosen to replace the aging ZiL-157 truck line in the same role.
The Ural-375 series has been adopted by armed forces around the world, from Angola to Egypt, Syria to Vietnam. East Germany, Iraq and the Soviet Union are all former operators of this type.
The base forms the chassis of the alternative platforms, including the extended Ural-375A, Ural-375E KET-L recovery vehicle, Ural-377 6x4 civilian transporter and 6x6 Ural-375S. The final model remained the Ural-375D with an all-steel cabin, and the Ural-375DM was a modernized form of the D-type series, which was produced until 1991.
The
Model D was used as the host vehicle for the 85mm sector field gun as well as the famous BM-21 Grad Multiple Rocket Launch System (MLRS) rocket launcher.
The truck has a standard design layout with a three-person side-by-side crew cab. The driver sits in the front left and controls the vehicle using a conventional steering column. The engine sits in the bow behind a raised bumper and shaded headlights.
One axle is located under the engine compartment as usual, while the rear axle is supported by a tandem axle arrangement. The rear of the vehicle can be customized to suit battlefield requirements, including missile launch components, artillery systems, personnel carriers, communications modules, tarpaulin/tarpaulin covers, sideboard beds and open beds - that's what this proven vehicle has to offer.
Feature.
With generous ground clearance and dirt-friendly street tires, this truck is an all-around guy that serves drivers well.
The Iranian state used many Ural-375Ds in stockpiles received in the 1970s.
Chronologically, the Ural-375 was replaced in the Russian military lineup by the Ural-4320, which was introduced around 1977. The car was also widely recognized all over the world, it continued the 6x6 wheel layout and followed itself through the Urals "Next".
