History
The BMC AMAZON is the smallest vehicle in BMC Otomotiv's family of armored vehicles. It was first shown publicly at the Eurosatory exhibition in Paris in 2016. The vehicle was designed for the Turkish Armed Forces and has also seen usage in neighboring and regional countries.
In October 2026, footage shared on X by Turkish defense analyst Ahmet Alemdar showed dozens of AMAZON 4x4 armored vehicles described as being in service with Libyan elite units, fitted with remote-controlled weapon stations and jamming systems. Alemdar did not identify which Libyan force or faction the vehicles belong to, where or when the footage was filmed, or the total number beyond describing them as "dozens." Neither BMC nor Türkiye's defense procurement agency has publicly announced an AMAZON export contract with Libya.
The AMAZON has also been reported in other regional deployments: it was noted in service with Turkmenistan in March 2018, and in January 2026 social media posts described the vehicle in service with the Syrian Arab Army along the Tabka, Rakka, and Haseke front lines. An exercise involving AMAZON-equipped units in Northern Cyprus was reported in January 2022.
