Glock 22

History

The Glock 22 appeared in 1990 and by 2006 became one of the most popular pistols. The pistol bridges the gap between the two. 45 caliber and 9x19mm Parabellum cartridges, giving operators access to .40 caliber cartridges.

By 2006, the system had become a favorite among military, police, security and private civilian operators.

Visually, the Glock 22 looks similar to the Glock 17, although it has some minor changes to the slider and frame. It fires from an angled 15-round magazine (and an optional 17-round magazine), which itself is also slightly modified from the Glock 17's design. The pistol grip is ergonomic and the trigger is located in a thick trigger ring with fore finger rest. Sights are in the front and back. The action is recoil, double (safety action).

The overall length is 186 mm (7.32 in) and the barrel accounts for 138 mm (5.43 in) of that length. The barrel is right-handed hexagonal with a twist length of 250 mm (9.84 in). The curb weight is 22.92 ounces, and the loaded weight is about 34.38 ounces.
