History of the SIG-Sauer P320

The P320 series semi-automatic pistols are designed with law enforcement in mind, so it has several excellent safety features for smooth, quick access and customizability. Polymers has reduced a total of eight and four main models: P320 Full, P320 Carry, P320 Compact and P320 Subcompact, each of which can be used in the usual pistol chambers, and each comes in different sizes to Meet the needs of the market category (eg ). The weapon is designed so that with some modifications it can be converted from a full-size model to carry.

Launched in 2014, this pistol is characterized by the usual SIG-Sauer quality and reliability.

The grip frame is modular and the fire control assembly is removable for shooter customization. Magazine release is reversible to serve left- and right-handed shooters. Tool-less disassembly makes routine maintenance easier.

The base frame can be converted to the usual pistol chambers - 9x19mm, .40 Black and White, .357SIG and .45ACP - via a slider and barrel modification kit. The internal firing pin is pre-cocked and the trigger has a good short pull and reset action.

Two trigger styles are available - standard and safety latch (law enforcement only). No external fuse (to eliminate the risk of getting stuck when pulling out the weapon). Instead, internal security systems are at work (thumb security is seen in law enforcement models).

Other standard options include base iron or night vision goggles. There are serrations on the front and rear of the weapon for slide management, and a Picatinny rail section under the muzzle allows for a sight or tactical flashlight to be mounted.

The P320 is used by many US local and state law enforcement agencies. The Royal Thai Police are also committed to the genre.

Introduced in 2017 is the P320 X-Series. This group includes X-Five, X-Carry and X-VTAC. The X-Five is available in 9mm and 40 S&W chambers when using a 5" barrel length. Fiberglass sights are mounted on the front. The X-Carry is a concealed carry version with a 3.9" barrel length.

Rifled for 9mm, magazine holds up to 17 cartridges. X-VTAC is a 9mm shape with stainless steel slides. Supports day and night optics and magazine holds 17 rounds. X-VTAC by Kyle Lamb of Viking Tactics Design.
