History

A new trend in today's tactical shotguns is the "dual barrel" shape, which greatly expands the ammo-carrying capabilities of this gun for the discerning buyer. Turkish arms manufacturer UTAS Makine has entered the field with its impressive UTS-15 bullpup shotgun, a rather futuristic gun with all the expected modeling features such as: B. Picatinny The receiver part of the rail to support optics and accessories.

Design work began in 2006, when well-known US arms company Smith & Wesson ordered a state-of-the-art 12-gauge shotgun that could hold at least 13 rounds and be no more than 30 inches in overall length. The final form went into production in 2012, and despite its impressive appearance, at its heart was a 12-gauge hand-operated pump-action shotgun.

The weapon can be used in the civilian market and is also sold to the military and law enforcement.

The most important feature of the UTS-15 is its two tubular magazines, which are placed side by side above the barrel. This has been seen before on 'Neostead' in South Africa and Kel-Tec KSG designs in the US.

The result is a shot close to the shoulder and therefore a theoretically easier to handle and therefore more accurate weapon. As a bullpup configuration, the UTS-15 showcases its bulk and inner workings behind the AR-15 style pistol grip while retaining the full length barrel.

The ejection port is mounted behind the grip, but it is fixed to the right side of the weapon, which only right-handers prefer. Known for its quick disassembly, the weapon comes with its own disassembly tool.

The UTS-15 comes as GEN1 and GEN2, the latter differing by a standard mounted light/laser combination unit on the front of the pump frame assembly. For the GEN1 model, this is additionally provided via a mountable kit. The group control is located at the bottom right of the weapon.

Other optional parts include barrel extensions, sights and cylinder chokes.

With the double-barreled approach, the UTS-15 can hold 7 shells (6 3") in one tube, with one more shell, giving the gunner a total of 15 rounds. The operator can then either have ammo in each tube from a selector switch on the top of the weapon, or set the function to automatically alternate between the two tubes evenly, the system fires bullets from each tube in sequence, thus consuming the ammo evenly Supplied, a shot type that proved useful when filling different tubes.

Visually monitor the number of tubes, numbered 0 to 7, through open cutouts along the sides of the magazine.

UTAS currently sells several UTS-15 forms, differentiated primarily by design. This ranges from desert to ocean and black to OD green.

Shooters found the gun to be in good shape, while some of the damage was attributed to a magnetically closed dust cover above the ejection port - which attracts the metal on the ejection cartridge case.
