Ceska Zbrojovka vz. 75 (CZ75 / Phantom) History

The CZ75 is a renowned pistol introduced in 1975 and has remained in continuous production since 1976, with over 1 million units produced. It is highly regarded for its reliability and accuracy, making it a favorite among law enforcement and military agencies worldwide. Despite being designed for export, its adoption of the 9x19mm Parabellum cartridge reflects its roots in the formerly communist Czechoslovakia.

The CZ75's design is credited to the Koucky brothers, and it is manufactured by Ceska Zbrojovka (CZ). It features a classic, ergonomic design with accessible controls and manual safety, akin to the Browning Hi-Power. This pistol fires the 9x19mm Parabellum cartridge and uses a 15-round magazine.

Variants of the CZ75 include the CZ75B with an internal striker safety and stainless steel versions. The "Compact" model offers a more portable option, while the "semi-compact" combines elements of the original and compact versions. There's also an ultra-compact "PCR Compact." These pistols are popular in competitive shooting sports, showcasing their versatility and performance.
