Chongqing Changfeng CF-05

History

The "Changfeng" was a Chinese-origin submachine gun (SMG) developed in the 1990s. Designed around the Chinese 5.8x21mm DAP 58 cartridge, it was compact, lightweight, and had a sleek appearance.

Initially considered for People's Liberation Army (PLA) trials, it didn't meet expectations and wasn't adopted. However, it was later modified to use the 9x19mm DAP-92 (9x19 Parabellum) cartridge and found use in law enforcement.

One distinctive feature is the ring bolt surrounding the barrel assembly, which integrates with the recoil system. Another notable feature is its spiral polymer magazine, similar to the American "calico" gun, positioned above the receiver. The gun also features a threaded muzzle for attaching a stealth suppressor, and it comes with standard open sights, with the option for night sights.

Its construction with polymers makes it lightweight and convenient for personal use.
