History of the Kel-Tec P50
Introduced in 2021, the Kel-Tec P50 is a distinctive semi-automatic handgun that expands the company's pistol range. It fires 5.7x28mm ammo, the same as the Belgian FN P90 PDW. Weighing just 3.2 pounds when empty, with a length of 15 inches and a compact 9.6-inch barrel, it's compact and lightweight. The magazine holds 50 rounds and is uniquely placed horizontally within the frame. Operating similar to the FN P90, it feeds rounds from the magazine by rotating them 90 degrees into the chamber. The transparent magazine shows remaining ammo. Picatinny rails above and below the barrel allow for tactical attachments. The grip is ergonomically angled and textured, with a 5-pound trigger pull. Ambidextrous safety controls are easily accessed. Its firing mechanism utilizes direct recoil action.
