History of the Kel-Tec PMR-30

The Kel-Tec PMR-30 is a full size semi-automatic pistol chambered for . 22WMR (Winchester Magnum Rimfire=WMR) by Kel- Developed by Tec Chief Designer Tobias Obermeit. Introduced in 2010, it is a small caliber (hence low recoil), light target shooting/targeting solution that fires from a 30-round detachable magazine. A traditional sight (Hi-Viz) is mounted on the frame for basic ranging, and various tactical accessories can be mounted on top of the receiver, including a red dot sight for improved ranging accuracy.

Internally, there is a 4.4-inch barrel, the 5-pound trigger is single-action (SAO), and the overall operation uses an unlocked short recoil system.

Pistol grip with patterned finish for better grip. A section of rail is fitted under the muzzle for mounting additional tactical equipment, such as a flashlight. The trigger is housed in an oversized ring, and the ambidextrous safety controls are easy to reach with the thumb. The eject port is on the right side of the frame.

The grip doubles well as a magazine in the traditional sense, and in addition to the 30-round magazine format, there are also 10-round models available for export customers.

Muzzle velocity reached 1,200 feet per second.
