History

The Chinese Army (PLA) possesses at least ten recognized semi-automatic pistol models. One notable example is the QX-04 series, which is locally designed, developed, and manufactured for use by the Chinese military and various police units. Production of the QX-04 began in 2011 under the supervision of the China Ordnance Equipment Group Corporation.

Externally, the QX-04 exhibits a sleek and modern appearance. It features a sliding mechanism on the barrel with ribbing for improved guidance, along with iron sights for aiming. The slider release and safety controls are positioned on the side of the slider, as is customary.

The pistol grip is ergonomically contoured to ensure a comfortable fit in the hand and also serves as a magazine, inserted into the base. The magazine release is conveniently located within the grip, while the trigger is slender and protected by a ring.

Beneath the front end of the firearm, a small rail section allows for the attachment of various tactical accessories, such as sights and flashlights.

The QX-04 primarily chambers 9x19mm Parabellum pistol cartridges, but it can also accommodate other popular cartridges like 7.62x25mm Tokarev, .40 SOFT, and .45 ACP. Utilizing these alternative cartridges necessitates the replacement of certain major components, including the barrel and magazine, in order to accommodate different bullet sizes. This modular design allows the pistol to cater to the specific requirements of the user.

In any case, the semi-automatic functionality of the weapon relies on a proven recoil action system.
