EDRONE Zipper Strike Drone

History

The EDRONE Zipper is a Ukrainian strike unmanned aerial vehicle announced in August 2026. EDRONE describes it as a low-cost mid-strike drone intended for mass use.

The announced design combines a payload of about 3 kg with a maximum flight range of up to 70 km. The aircraft has a modular fixed-wing configuration powered by two electric motors.

Zipper was presented while EDRONE was developing several types of unmanned aircraft. In May 2026, Ukrinform reported that the company had displayed fixed-wing and multirotor interceptor systems at the SAHA 2026 exhibition in Istanbul.

EDRONE chief executive Viktor Yevpak publicly displayed the Zipper in August 2026. The manufacturer stated that the codification process would begin in the near future. Mass production was planned to follow if codification was completed successfully.

Design

Zipper has a modular aircraft-type layout. Its airframe includes a large straight wing, an open tubular structure, and an elevated tail assembly.

Two electrically powered propellers are installed on the wing panels. The central section carries the electronics, antennas, and interchangeable equipment modules. The available information does not identify the guidance system, launch method, flight speed, endurance, or type of payload.

Program status

As announced in August 2026, Zipper was awaiting codification and had not yet entered confirmed mass production. The manufacturer presented production as conditional on the successful completion of that process.

The Zipper has been compared visually with the Ukrainian Blyskavka one-way attack drone. Blyskavka was developed in 2025 following analysis of a captured Russian Molniya drone. No formal development relationship between Blyskavka and Zipper has been confirmed.
