History
The TAF Kolibri-i10 is a Ukrainian high-speed interceptor UAV developed by TAF Industries to destroy hostile fixed-wing reconnaissance and strike drones. Ukraine's Ministry of Defence codified the system in 2026, clearing it for use by the country's Defence Forces.
The interceptor was developed from combat experience with the Kolibri 10 FPV drone. TAF Industries created a specialized design after Ukrainian forces used the earlier drone for aerial interception missions against Russian unmanned aircraft.
The Kolibri-i10 is intended to complement existing air-defense measures by protecting military positions and other facilities in frontline and rear areas. Its stated target set includes Molniya, Orlan, Zala and other reconnaissance or attack UAVs.
Development and codification
TAF Industries said the Kolibri-i10 emerged from practical experience using the Kolibri 10 FPV drone to intercept fixed-wing UAVs. Battlefield experience led the company to develop a dedicated interceptor with a redesigned configuration rather than relying on the original general-purpose FPV platform.
The company reported that field trials had confirmed the effectiveness of the specialized interceptor and that serial production and production scaling had begun by August 2026. Ukraine's Ministry of Defence subsequently codified the Kolibri-i10. Contemporary reports from Militarnyi, UNITED24 Media and Ukrainska Pravda described the codification and production status.
The development background also included operational use of earlier Kolibri FPV drones in the interceptor role. One reported engagement involved a pilot of the 4th Operational Battalion Rubizh intercepting a Russian Orlan reconnaissance UAV at an altitude of 3,285 m with an anti-aircraft Kolibri FPV drone. The available sources identify that aircraft as a Kolibri FPV drone rather than specifically as the Kolibri-i10, so the engagement should not be treated as a confirmed Kolibri-i10 combat interception.
Design
The Kolibri-i10 is optimized for high-speed interception. Compared with the earlier Kolibri 10 platform from which the concept evolved, the dedicated interceptor received a reinforced frame, more powerful electric motors, a more secure camera mounting arrangement, high-speed propellers and revised aerodynamics.
According to the TAF Industries product page, the UAV is manually controlled and has a payload capacity of 0.6 kg. The manufacturer states that it can be equipped with a warhead and is intended to destroy wing-type reconnaissance drones as well as Geran-1, also known as Shahed-131, UAVs.
Flight performance
The manufacturer gives a maximum speed of more than 200 km/h. Combat radius is stated as 12.5 km, while maximum flight distance is 25 km. Flight endurance exceeds 20 minutes, and the specified flight altitude is up to 3,000 m.
Optics and control
The Kolibri-i10 can use digital daytime or digital night-vision cameras. Manual control gives the operator direct control during interception. TAF Industries and contemporary reporting describe the aircraft as suitable for operations under different lighting conditions.
Electronic-warfare resistance
Reporting on the codified aircraft states that the Kolibri-i10 uses MilELRS firmware intended to maintain stable operation in conditions of active electronic warfare. The available source material does not provide additional technical details about the communications architecture or its resistance levels.
Program status
By August 2026, the Kolibri-i10 had completed field testing, entered serial production according to TAF Industries, and received Ukrainian Ministry of Defence codification. Codification made the interceptor eligible for use by Ukrainian Defence Forces. Ukrainska Pravda also reported that units could procure the UAV through the DOT-Chain Defence system.
