History
This particular vehicle is a former Swedish Army variant equipped with all the CES (Complete Equipment Program) e. G. Pickaxe, shovel and leash.
The BV 206 is designed to work in some of the most dangerous conditions, especially in the mountains of Sweden, where any normal vehicle can fail. Fully amphibious, this vehicle is equally nimble in the desert regions of the Middle East.
It can carry up to 17 people, 6 people in the front cabin and 11 people in the rear cabin, or 2.5 tons of equipment or supplies, at speeds up to 56 km/h.
The BV 206 has been in service with the British Army since the mid-1980s and is still in service today. The only major change is the replacement of the Ford V6 petrol engine with a Mercedes diesel.
The museum primarily uses the BV206 to provide our visitors the experience of riding in a military vehicle as they drive our off-road assault courses and test tracks.
