Quantum Systems Subvex is an AI-enabled unmanned underwater vehicle developed for autonomous intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance missions. The system is intended to operate at depths of up to 6,000 m and can perform active missions or remain on the seabed for passive monitoring.
Subvex was introduced together with the Seavex unmanned surface vehicle as part of Quantum Systems' expansion into maritime unmanned systems. Both platforms are integrated with the MOSAIC UXS software architecture, allowing information from air, land, surface and underwater systems to be combined within a common operational environment.
The vehicle is intended for missions including critical maritime infrastructure protection, maritime border security, anti-submarine surveillance and blue-water surveillance. Quantum Systems describes the platform as capable of distributed operations involving multiple Subvex vehicles.
Quantum Systems publicly introduced Subvex and Seavex at Sesimbra, Portugal, on 14 September 2026, on the sidelines of a NATO maritime exercise. According to the Quantum Systems announcement, the two systems were being tested and validated during sea trials rather than presented as established operational equipment.
The maritime program extended the company's unmanned-system activities from air and land into the sea domain. Quantum Systems designed Subvex and Seavex to operate through the same MOSAIC UXS architecture, with the objective of connecting sensors and autonomous platforms above and below the waterline.
Independent reporting published after the presentation also described Subvex as a deep-sea autonomous vehicle intended for reconnaissance, surveillance and infrastructure-protection missions. Militarnyi reported that the system can support distributed operations with multiple vehicles and remain on the seabed for prolonged passive monitoring.
Design
Underwater vehicle
Subvex is an unmanned underwater vehicle designed for autonomous missions in deep water. Its reported maximum operating depth is 6,000 m. The available information does not disclose its dimensions, mass, propulsion arrangement or maximum speed.
The vehicle is designed for two different endurance profiles. During active movement, it can operate for up to four days. For passive surveillance, it can remain on the seabed for several weeks, allowing persistent monitoring without continuous movement.
