History

EROS NOVA is an Israeli Earth-observation satellite developed by ImageSat International for high-resolution orbital imaging. ImageSat International unveiled the satellite on September 8, 2026.

The system is designed to capture imagery detailed enough to identify small objects on the ground. Its native imaging resolution is described as sufficient to record details measuring approximately 25 cm.

EROS NOVA also incorporates processing of some imagery aboard the satellite before the data is transmitted to an analyst. This approach allows part of the image-processing workflow to take place in space rather than only after transmission to the ground.

Design

Imaging system

EROS NOVA is configured for high-resolution Earth observation. ImageSat International describes its native imaging resolution as sufficient to capture ground details measuring 25 cm. This capability is intended to provide imagery in which relatively small objects can be distinguished from orbit.

Onboard processing

The satellite is designed to process some imagery in space before transmission. The available information does not specify the processing hardware, algorithms, data products, or proportion of imagery handled aboard the spacecraft.
